Civil Engineering(GN)

The Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory supports soil testing for shear strength, compaction, permeability, and classification, helping students understand foundation behavior and site safety. The Environmental Engineering Laboratory focuses on water and wastewater analysis, pollution monitoring, and treatment techniques that align with current sustainability standards. In the Transportation Engineering Laboratory, learners gain practical exposure to bitumen testing, aggregate evaluation, and pavement design, crucial for careers in highway engineering.

To complement laboratory training, the department offers spacious classrooms, CAD-enabled computer labs, design studios, and a model-making workshop for structural and architectural prototyping. Software tools such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, and surveying applications form an integral part of the curriculum, boosting students’ digital engineering skills.

Regular industrial visits, expert seminars, and project-based learning initiatives ensure that students remain aligned with real-world engineering practices. With a strong academic framework and modern facilities, the Civil Engineering Department prepares graduates for successful careers in construction management, infrastructure planning, consultancy, and government sectors.

The Civil Engineering Department at Maratha Mandal College is one of the institution’s strongest academic pillars, offering industry-focused training supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced laboratory facilities. Designed to meet the growing demand for skilled civil engineers in India and beyond, the department blends classroom learning with hands-on technical experience, ensuring students graduate with job-ready competencies in construction, infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability.

The department features a wide range of modern, industry-standard laboratories that enhance practical understanding. The Strength of Materials Laboratory helps students analyze the mechanical behavior of construction materials, while the Concrete Technology Laboratory is equipped for mix design, durability tests, and quality evaluation. Our Surveying Laboratory, featuring digital theodolites, total stations, auto levels, and GPS equipment, trains students in land surveying, mapping, and geospatial analysis—essential skills for modern infrastructure projects.
